You don’t need a business. You need people who trust you.

Maybe you run something — a salon, a shop, a contracting business. Maybe you don’t, and you work a normal job. Either way, this is something you can build alongside it.

This page explains what that really looks like.

Let’s be straight about where you’d be starting.

Other pages on this site are written for people who already advise others about money — tax preparers, loan officers, real estate agents. They arrive with hundreds of clients who already trust them about money specifically.

You’d be starting somewhere different, and it’s worth being open about that. Your people don’t come to you about money — they come to you about their kids, their house, their car, their business. That is a longer bridge to walk. It is also a real one, and most people in this industry are starting with no bridge at all.

Three things are true anyway, and they're the reason this door exists.

A license is yours, permanently.

It isn't a job. Nobody can lay you off from it, nobody can take it back, and it moves with you to any agency in the state. There are very few credentials you can earn in a few weeks, with no degree, that belong to you for the rest of your life. This is one of them.

The door is lower than almost anything else in financial services.

No degree. No experience. No years of unpaid climbing. A few weeks of study, one exam, and a few hundred dollars. That's genuinely unusual, and it's why people who were never going to get into this business get into this business.

Everyone you know needs this, and nobody has explained it to them.

Not the wealthy version — the ordinary version. The family with two kids and one income and no coverage at all. The parent who's been meaning to sort it out for six years. Those are the people who need this most and get sold to least.

Everyone quits in the same place: the week they run out of people they already know. That's the part we actually teach.

That's the honest shape of it. The license is the easy part. What happens after your first ten conversations is the real work — and it's the only thing worth choosing a company for.

Before anything else, the income numbers.

From the company's most recent published income disclosure, of the agents who were paid anything at all: 44.1% earned under $1,000 for the year, 74.9% earned under $5,000, and 2.02% earned over $100,000. Everyone who earned nothing is excluded from those figures.

We lead with this because you would find it out eventually. We'll send you the full document before you decide anything.

Why that number is what it is, and what we do differently →

That number applies to you too.

You would be starting the way almost everyone starts. That is exactly why the number is what it is. Your situation isn't special, and we'd be lying if we said it was.

What we can tell you is precisely where people stop, and what we do differently at that point. That’s the only honest thing anyone can offer someone building this alongside something else — and it's what the call is actually about.

There is more than one way to do this.

Three, and all of them are normal. Get licensed and write your own business. Get licensed and hand the appointment to one of our experienced partners, splitting the commission with them. Or build a team and earn on their production as well as your own.

You don't have to decide which one you are today, and people move between them. The three, explained properly →

What it costs.

$199 to join, once. ~$185–600 for your state licence — coursework, exam and fingerprinting, paid to the state, not to us. Once you're licensed, roughly $375–850 a year in California and $360–780 in Nevada for E&O cover, renewal and continuing education.

See the full breakdown, line by line →

There's no deadline.

Nothing expires at the end of the month. There's no cohort closing, no price going up, and no reason to decide today.

Licensing takes a few weeks — roughly three to six in California, two to four in Nevada. You study at your own pace and take the exam when you're ready.

And you don't have to quit anything to start. Most people do this alongside whatever they're already doing, for as long as they need to. Nobody here will tell you to walk away from a paycheck to prove you're serious.

This is the version of the road with the most people on it and the most who stop walking. Take your time deciding. The people who do well are the ones who thought about it honestly, not the ones who got excited on a Saturday.

The rest of the detail.

Everything that isn't specific to your line of work — what this actually is, who it suits, exactly what happens on a first call, and the questions everyone asks — lives on one page rather than being repeated on four.
